The Sierra 48 installs three ways —built into the wall, mounted on it, or set on its included feet as a tabletop piece—and every one ends the same way: you plug it into a standard household outlet and the fire is on. The fire itself is changeable. Four media beds come in the box —logs, pebbles, and two crystal mixes—and you can rotate through the flame color themes and eight ember bed colors until the fire matches the room, not the other way around. When you do want warmth, Dimplex rates the fan-forced ceramic heater to warm up to 1,000 square feet; in most rooms, expect up to 500 sq ft, depending on climate and layout.
