An arched wood fire that turns your open fireplace into the room’s heater. You need a fire that keeps its heat in the house. The Medium Flush Wood Arch is for you if you like the shape of your wood-burning fireplace and want it to heat the room without giving up a traditional arched opening. Leave it open and you keep feeding a fire that mostly warms the flue; add this insert and the same fireplace becomes a real heat source. What Makes It Special The arch is the point. A Classic Arch or Wilmington Black arched face frames the glass, so the fireplace keeps its traditional shape, and a one-piece surround panel closes the gap to your existing masonry for a finished look. Behind the glass, the burn is designed for longer, cleaner fires, as long as 12 hours per fill and enough heat for up to 2,000 square feet. Twin fans push that warmth out into the room, and 24-inch logs fit. A bypass damper cuts down on smoke rolling into the room when you reload, and the optional GreenStart igniter starts the fire with a button. Possible Downsides • The arch trims a little glass. The arched door shows 216 square inches of fire; the rectangular version shows 227. • A face and a surround panel are both required. Plan on choosing one of each. • Push-button starting is optional. Without the igniter, you light it the traditional way. If you want to keep your fireplace’s arched, traditional look and keep its heat indoors, the Medium Flush Wood Arch NexGen-Hybrid is the right decision. The fireplace you used to sit beside becomes the one that warms the whole room. Choose the Classic Arch or Wilmington Black face, a one-piece surround panel in either of two sizes with optional trim, and add-ons including a push-button igniter, an insert wiring kit, and firewood moisture meters.
